The heavier stuffs each box contains, the higher risk of breakage it receives. Therefore, packing using double-wall-box is always strongly recommended especially for international shipment.

In general, an 18x18x18 (inches) box is suggested for clothing and 13x13x17 is for books. If you plan to pack both clothing and books in one, a 16x16x16 box would be a better choice than an 18x18x18. However, box size is not limited to only these three. You can pack your belongings using the one you might already have in your apartment, or stuffing them into the extra luggage that you won't need it shortly.
